Owning Your "Why?"

When your life changes direction, sometimes you find yourself re-evaluating and having to re-work some of the ideas and projects you'd been working on before the plot twist and either throw them on the ground and stomp them into oblivion OR re-define them. This is exactly what I've been doing with my wellness business. New partnerships, new programs, more fun stuff! 

Splitting time in Florida, sharing my life with the man that I never thought could exist for me, and becoming a mom--among many other changes--has led me through some epic soul searching. Questioning why I set out down this path in the health and fitness industry in the first place, and looking at how my path has evolved as my life has changed. In the very start of my fitness career, I coached to heal myself. I initially used each session in the gym and connected with my clients to get me through a very stressful period of life in an unhealthy marriage, and continued that pattern using competitions, research, diets and total immersion as a distraction. After my last bodybuilding competition almost two years ago, I hit rock bottom, finally being forced to face who I was as a single female again (which I'd never really been before). Essentially, I gave up the past to the universe and have since actualized myself as a fully-formed woman who is more happy now than she has ever been in her life. Every day is new for me and my fitness career is now in a place of giving, sharing, and enjoyment of a happy and healthy lifestyle. I've grown much wiser and discovered my "why?" again. My purpose comes from the joy I feel when I can help others with their own self discovery and get in tune with how their bodies and minds are connected now that my own cup is totally and joyously full!

So, what's my new impetus? As a multi-passioned fitness professional, mother, nutrition maven, coach and yogi. I'm bent on sharing the missing piece.  It isn't a new meal plan or training program. I've learned a most important lesson coming through the challenges of finding myself. It's all about feeling. Finding balance and health with a loving heart towards YOU. Before you begin, feeling every inch of your body and energizing yourself from the inside out. Not looking externally for motivation, but instead fostering it from within and feeding it with gratitude for what your body can do for you! Pressing forward with a willing spirit to try, full knowing you may fail, but with excitement because you may learn something new about yourself. 

Our paths are constantly evolving. Everything we do today changes the way our futures unfold. We must recognize and own the things in our lives that drive us; the sources of our power. Our "WHY?", which is the reason we make the choices that we do which can always help us ground ourselves and focus on our life missions. 

Grab a piece of paper. Put in writing the reasons you want to be a better you. What are your goals? What does future you look like?  Maybe it’s finally time for you to start fresh, re-claim your body, channel intrinsic motivation, relieve stress, or look and feel the best that you ever have.  Maybe you’ve learned that quick fixes don’t work for you anymore and you are ready for achieving and maintaining weight loss.  Maybe you want to learn how nutrition affects your body and you want to explore getting more creative in the kitchen.  Maybe it’s something deeper.  Maybe you’ve recently experienced a huge change in your life, divorce, loss, illness, or just gave birth and you’re just ready to be healthy and take control of your mind and your body. To become the master of your own universe.
